Overview:
Responsible for acting as the focal point for customers of Atlas.  Oversees the execution of complex initiatives to help an organization achieve its goals. Manages program strategy and profitability. Leads others and directs all phases of assigned cross-organizational or business unit projects demonstrating proficiency in all project management areas in accordance with accepted project management standards in the industry. Interacts with customers to provide information in response to inquiries about products and services.   Leads business segment teams by developing a communication plan for assigned programs and ensures functional support to each customer. Acts as a mentor/trainer for Program Managers.  Will act as subject matter expert for all departments and management, providing guidance, customer insight, and actively participate in issue resolution. Consults with executive leadership and integrates organizational strategy and company initiatives to develop project deliverables. Act as a key decision maker for the company to manage cost while ensuring customer needs are met. Provides assessment of team performance to appropriate management.

Responsibilities:
Optimizes program profitability by managing the cost throughout the value chain (supply chain to customer) as well as negotiating equitable pricing with customers.

Lead and direct all phases of assigned cross-organizational or business unit projects demonstrating proficiency in all project management areas in accordance with accepted project management standards in the industry

Schedule and maintain documentation of Program Manager training as needed.

Ensure business segment team is consistently and accurately loading customer demand into the system

Offer specific tools and strategies to Program Managers to increase their productivity and performance.

Represent the business segment at program reviews, meetings, seminars, etc. Maintain complex and/or challenging customer relationships.

Oversee process improvement events, define and monitor performance metrics, foster culture, and mentor Program Management team

Organize project and task workloads and selects individuals most qualified for specific projects

Anticipate issues and mitigate them with the team quickly and accurately.

Communicate and work with customers regarding schedule changes, ECO requests, requirements and schedules, customer tracking requirements updates including POISR, Boots, FLT, Open Order Reports, 45 Report, and recovery schedules.

Manage and communicate business segment budget goals and provide accurate monthly and quarterly delivery forecasts.

Work with master scheduling and customer to ensure demand, capacity and financial alignment 

Maintains a positive and professional working relationship with all customers.

Monitors and completes any Engineering Change Order (ECO) requirements

Ensures accurate receipt, validation and negotiation of customer provide purchase orders as required. This includes verifying Lead Time, Pricing, Quality Codes, etc.as required on the Purchase Order and can be customer specific requirements.

Communicates customer feedback to PMC internal customers to include priorities, quality, delivery, and Engineering Change Requests (ECR’s).

Reviews and works obsolete inventory and material as necessary.

Ensures project controls including budgeting/cost tracking, scheduling, and delivery.

Ensures written and oral communications are professional.

Coordinate communication between internal support groups and customers to address all requests for information, quality issues, schedule priorities, delivery performance, engineering revisions, and demand.

May lead bid and proposal activities, ensuring that the requirements of the request for proposal are met in the preparation and documentation of bids and proposals

Leads new product introduction (NPI) activities to bring new programs into production then partners with operations to mature manufacturing and continuously improves efficiency.

Actively seek new business opportunities in coordination with company strategic goals

Ensure internal departments are supporting customer delivery schedule.

Language Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and preferably Microsoft AX.

 

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree: or five years related experience as a program manager in a leadership role and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Specialized Training:

5+ years of Customer Service, Business Management, Program Management or Project Management experience required

PMP or PMI certification preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:

Ability to train and mentor

Ability to manage without authority

Experience working directly with engineers and other related functions in a project or program.

Strong ability to set priorities, solve problems, and be resourceful when under pressure

Excellent planning, organizational, time management, and personal interfacing skills

Polished professional with outgoing attitude, be a team player, and enjoy making guests feel welcome

High level of proficiency with general office pc applications (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint), and comfortable with learning new applications as required

Proven ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously (coordination, status and performance to plan)

Ability to review and evaluate terms and conditions of contract/requirements documents to ensure compliance.

Quality orientated, must understand requirements of AS9102

Comfort and experience interfacing with various levels of staff and management while working in a fast-paced environment

Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with customers, other employees, and vendors

Aviation background with ability to lead cross functional teams.

Strong familiarity with manufacturing, preferably machining and structural assembly.

Schedule development by project appropriate to project scope.

Must demonstrate a sense of urgency and dedication to supporting customer requirements

Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
