Position Description:
Gwynedd Manufacturing, a growing defense contractor located in North Wales, PA, is a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility dedicated to producing quality products for the U.S. Department of Defense and various U.S. Federal Law Enforcement Agencies. As a CNC Swiss Lathe programmer, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting technical blueprints, inputting the design specifications, adjusting the machine cutting paths, and performing quality checks on the final product. You will also be required to setup the machines and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the manufacturing process. To ensure success as a CNC Swiss Lathe Programmer, you should have extensive experience working in manufacturing, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities :
Analyzes drawings, models, and design data of part to determine best practices for selection of tool path, cutting tools and associated speed and feed data, according to knowledge of machine shop processes, part specifications, and machine capabilities
Computes angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures, and outlines sequence of operations required to machine part using Partmaker/NX software
Determine zero offset positions at machine for programs
Set all tooling in machine
Writes instruction sheets and tool lists to guide setup and continued operation of machine
Compares computer printout with original program sheet to assure accuracy of machine instructions
Changes program to eliminate instruction errors or omissions
Observes operation of machine on trial run to prove programmed instructions
Ensures first article and first piece submissions are correct by working with quality team
Assist with development of senior operators and setup technicians
Requirements
Minimum of three years of CNC programming experience
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic math skills.
