Overview:
Part of the Hydrific team, you are a driving force behind an exciting business venture with a focus around water conservation, usage and sustainability in homes. Hydrific is focused on researching and solving problems in water-stressed regions across the globe, and you will help develop new products and solutions that make better living a reality for everyone, everywhere.  This position is Hybrid with 1 -2 days onsite in Manhattan.

Responsibilities:
We are looking for an ambitious Senior IoT Embedded Engineer to join our team in creating the next generation of IoT water savings solutions. This role will take ownership of our Embedded Systems and IoT devices, expanding key functionality for fleet management, communication protocols, signal processing, data pipelines, and supporting overall implementation of key features of our best-in-class product.

 

The ideal candidate is passionate about learning new technologies and solving problems with a wide variety of tools to create a real impact. We’re using: Elixir, PostgreSQL, TimescaleDb, C, C++, Grafana, GraphQL, Flutter, AWS, and IoT technologies (MQTT, etc.)

Main Responsibilities:

Code Development: Write, test, and deploy high-quality, robust embedded C, ensuring our devices provide the critical functionality needed to align with the business goals.

Communication Protocols: Implement new and existing interfaces using HTTPs, WebSockets and MQTT communication protocols

Signal Processing: Analyze, refine, and expand our existing signal processing algorithms to guarantee optimal device functionality.

Product Collaboration: Work closely with key product stakeholders to comprehend, analyze, and fulfill product needs. Participate actively in our Agile Scrum process, providing valuable inputs to the development lifecycle.

CI/CD Infrastructure: Contribute to expanding CI/CD pipelines. Establish rigorous unit and integration testing processes, and incorporate advanced deployment tools to streamline releases to test and production environments.

Quality Assurance: Collaborate closely with our QA team to ensure stringent code quality standards are maintained throughout the release life-cycle.

Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in building scalable software solutions with an emphasis on Embedded Systems, RTOS devices, IoT architecture and protocols

Experience with web, mobile, data, and platform engineering in production

Understanding of processing pipelines, filtering, and time-series data

Breadth and depth of knowledge for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, process building, testing, and operations

Deep understanding of data algorithms, and a strong commitment to quality

Proven track record of shipping software to production within an agile development environment

Ability to deliver creative solutions to business-critical requirements

Excellent interpersonal & communication skills

B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Technical Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of Embedded C, RTOS, and peripheral protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, BLE, WIFI)

Advanced knowledge of OTA and secure memory storage.

Advanced knowledge of IoT protocols (MQTT, HTTPS, WSS)

Experience with databases (PostgreSQL)

Experience with APIs (GraphQL, REST)

Experience with a variety of higher-level languages (Elixir, Java, Go, Python, Rust)

Experience in backend data analysis, pipelines, ML, and processing

Experience with designing, building, and debugging APIs and distributed backend systems

Big Plus if you also have the following experiences:

Electrical engineering and basic electronics device prototyping

Hiring Range:
The Hiring Salary Range for this position is $108,000-$149,000  annually.

 

(Salary offer to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)

 

Other Compensation (if applicable): This role will be eligible to participate in the annual Short Term Incentive plan.
