TalentFish is casting a line for a Director of IT Policy Administration. This is a direct hire role in Cedar Rapids, IA. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of IT Policy Administration to lead multiple Agile delivery PODs focused on Visual Cobol and other technologies within the life and annuity industry. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership skills, Agile methodologies, and effective stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will ensure the delivery of high-quality Visual Cobol products while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and performance excellence. What You Bring to the Role. (Ideal Experience)
Lead and oversee multiple Agile delivery PODs focused on Visual Cobol.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality products within the life and annuity industry.
Drive Agile transformations and scale Agile principles across teams.
Manage cross-functional teams and multiple projects simultaneously.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and performance excellence.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and meet business needs.
What You'll Do. (Skills Used in this Position)
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience; Master's degree is a plus.
Minimum 8 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
At least 5 years of experience with Policy Administration systems in the Life/Annuity Insurance industry.
Proven experience in driving Agile transformations.
Solid problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong familiarity with data privacy practices, regulations, and laws.
Experience leading technical teams.
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or similar Agile certification is preferred.
Visual Cobol experience is preferred.
