Job Summary:
As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical database systems. Your role is crucial in ensuring the availability and consistent performance of our applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
Ensure database security, including backups, access controls, and disaster recovery plans.
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
Optimize database performance through tuning and query optimization.
Develop and maintain database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions.
Collaborate with developers and other IT staff to support database design, development, and implementation.
Perform regular database capacity planning and scaling.
Qualifications:
Proven at least 2 years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
Experience with database performance tuning and optimization (PTO).
Familiarity with database backup, recovery, and security practices.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Relevant certifications (Oracle DBA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator) are a plus.
