We are seeking an organized, reliable, and driven Network Engineer to work as part of our field service team to install, troubleshoot, and repair data networks at Naval Undersea Warfare (NUWCDIVNPT) in Newport RI. The engineer will work internally as part of organization's IT support team and externally to provide networking solutions for the organization's clients.
This position requires on-site work in Newport, Rhode Island.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Install all new hardware, systems, and software for networks
Install, configure, and maintain network services, equipment and devices
Configure / software upgrades on routers, switches, and other network hardware
Plans and supports network and computing infrastructure
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problems and outages
Schedule updates and upgrades
Documents network problems and resolution for future reference
Position Requirements:
Ability to prioritize and multi-task
Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Available to work outside of regular working hours and weekends
Advance experience with Cisco IOS and deploying Cisco routers/switches
Minimum two years' experience with computer hardware installation and repair
Hands-on experiences implementing and administrating network devices - firewalls, routers, VPN and backup applications.
Certifications - Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
CompTIA Security+ or CompTIA CASP
Additional Requirements:
Position requires U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance with the US government; active security clearance preferred
Military or government experience preferred but not necessary
Ability to obtain a US passport, active passport preferred
Travel required within the United States and Internationally (Bahamas / twice a year, up to two weeks at a time)
