Job Description:
We re looking at DevOps SME, who has done Apps Platform Migration in past from Rancher to Anthos.
* SME candidate should have real hands-on experience in platform migration.
* He himself need to execute this migration activities except any java development.
* Any dependent java /code development will be done by our inhouse team.
* Person should have solid understanding of Anthos and its components, such as Anthos GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine), Anthos Config Management, and Anthos Service Mesh. Should Assess existing Application: Evaluate the existing on-premises application to ensure it meets the requirements for migration to Anthos.
* Other high-level Responsibilities of SME will be as below.
* Understand the requirement and create the high Level and Low-level solution design document.
* Convert the application into a containerized format, such as Docker containers
* Install and configure Anthos components like Anthos Config Management and Anthos Service Mesh on the Kubernetes cluster
* Deploy the containerized application to the Kubernetes cluster on-premise.
* Configure networking to allow communication between the on-premise environment and other Anthos-enabled environments
* Implement security policies and access controls using Anthos Service Mesh and other Anthos security features.
* Set up monitoring and logging for the application using tools like Google Cloud Monitoring and Logging.
* Perform thorough testing to ensure that the application works as expected in the Anthos environment
* Leverage Anthos features to scale the application and optimize its performance
* Utilize Anthos Config Management to manage and enforce policies across the Kubernetes clusters.
* if application relies on microservices, consider using Anthos Service Mesh to manage service-to-service communication, monitoring, and security.
* Take advantage of Google Cloud services and features that complement Anthos, such as Cloud Identity and Access Management (IAM), Cloud Monitoring, and Cloud Logging.
* If the application uses databases, ensure a smooth data migration process. Anthos doesn't provide built-in database migration tools
