Location Description:
Hopkins, MN is home to our Michael Foods, Inc. corporate headquarters. Hopkins is located 7 miles west of Minneapolis, boasting natural surroundings in a suburban environment that also provides quick access to major travel ways and local restaurants that give our community a distinct character. Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY:

The IT Business Intelligence Intern will work with the IT applications team and various business partners to identify, report, analyze and explore critical business data.  This will be accomplished by designing and building interactive reports containing charts, graphs and other visual elements, as well as drill-down capabilities.  This intern will gain in-depth experience using Tableau as well as exposure to data access methods in our SAP data warehouse.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Analyze existing data and reports in order to identify gaps and opportunities for additional business insight.

Design and build reports to meet customers’ information needs.

Research various types of visual elements (charts and graphs) and determine which would most effectively provide actionable information to users.

Use predictive modeling features to help transform historical data into forward-looking business insights.

Conduct end-user training related to the newly built reports and create training documents for new users.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Current enrollment, or recent graduate, in an undergraduate degree program in Information Technology

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Technology focused with an eye for visual elements

Creative problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Understanding and desire to learn about data analytics
