Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer develops and implements methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed | Designs and installs sophisticated testing equipment and performs product testing and analysis to maintain quality levels and minimize defects and failure rates | Analyzes reports and defective products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions | Collaborates with supplier representatives on quality problems, ensures that effective corrective actions are implemented and contributes to supplier quality improvement programs

Major Position Responsibilities:
• Establishes quality standards for products and processes and suggest modifications meant to prevent defects in components or final products.
• Works closely with cross-functional teams, including product design, product management, and production, to identify and mitigate quality risks.
• Audits production processes, raw materials, or suppliers/vendors to ensure that established quality standards are met.
• Conducts root cause analysis for defects, non-conformities, or other quality failures.
• May be responsible for ensuring compliance with formal external quality standards, such as ISO 9001.

• Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines
• Solves complex problems
• Works independently, receives minimal guidance
• May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives

Basic Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience: 

Associate's Degree, Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/ or Experience

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other Engineering related degree required

5-7 years experience in a relevant function

Major Competencies/Skills:

Strong understanding and working experience on NDT special process Liquid Die Penetrant operations.

Subject matter knowledge on ASTM E 1417, NAS 410 requirements

Certified Level 3 ASNT experts strongly preferred.

Lead and Maintain GD-OTS Garland NADCAP Liquid penetrant special process accreditation.

NADCAP

Physical Demands:  

Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.

Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Travel: 

Less than 25% travel likely.
