IT Sr. BSA Job Description
This position supports both Medical Affairs and Field Medical requirements processes for
in-house developed or purchased IT systems to meet business needs. They will be responsible
for working closely with our business partners and within IT to understand and help shape the
strategic drivers and tactical needs to successfully deliver an experience that is intuitive,
scalable, and stable. This role also requires strong agile skills, especially the capability to
function both as in the BSA and in the scrum master role.
Responsibilities:
The IT BSA will establish themselves as a “thought partner” with internal customers
Conducting 1:1 or group interviews and planning and facilitating workshops and
end-user working sessions intended to surface requirements.
Supporting the successful implementation of technical solutions by providing business
process analysis design, strategic vision, best practice research, detailed
requirements definition, user-centric functional design, vendor evaluations,
systems assessments, and user acceptance testing facilitation.
Support business partner on the development of Organizational Change Management
(OCM) deliverables
Participating in roadmap discussions and vendor assessments
Keeping management apprised of developments through clear and timely
communication
Collaborating with Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, Developers, and Designers
on scope, solutions, constraints, and risks
Analyzing, documenting, and advising on current and future business process models
Analyzing and documenting high-level requirements (scope) and using Agile
methodology to document Epics and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
Show up with an enterprise mindset and ensure work is not being done in silos.
Be a systems thinker and look at the big picture while determining the best solution.
Requirements:
7+ years business systems analysis and support experience with various types of
Software Development Life Cycle methodologies in an enterprise IT environment
Proven agile mindset and scrum methodology experience working in both a
Scrum Master and BSA capacity.
Strong experience with documenting Epics, User Stories and spikes using a
scrum tool such as JIRA is a must. Confluence knowledge is a plus.
Must be able to independently handle complex problems and work in a cross functional
environment with multiple stakeholders.
Ability to rapidly understand business requirements and communicate business
expectations to cross-functional technology development teams.
Strong presentation and meeting facilitation skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Advanced English language skills, including Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn the business in unfamiliar areas
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to directly mentor others
Able to work Pacific Standard Time business hours
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years’ experience in Biotechnology or Pharma
Demonstrated experience collaborating effectively across multiple customers and IT
functions
Large project implementation experience in a matrixed IT organization
