About the job
The SAS Visual Machine Learning team is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to help drive the continuous delivery of high-quality software to our customers by building confidence into the release pipeline. Our team is committed to developing and supporting robust and scalable end-to-end automation solutions for every step of the product development and operations life cycle.
As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, you will:
Create and maintain?the highest quality of test automation?that?fails?fast, uses modern development techniques, and provides key data points to support?metrics-based?decision making.
Apply automated tests at every layer of the application stack,?both inside and outside of the continuous delivery pipeline.
Capitalize upon?your creativity by developing innovative solutions to complex problems.
Work with your team to promptly triage test failures with precision?and accuracy, maintaining the health of the build pipeline.
Work collaboratively with development, product, operations, and support peers to encourage quality.
Provide mentorship through code reviews for product, test, and infrastructure code.
Utilize observability and monitoring tools to proactively detect and remediate failures
Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, preferably in Computer Science or related field
8+ years of hands on experience with two of the following programming languages: Python, Golang, Java, Groovy, C, C++ or Java Script.
Expertise with REST APIs
Hands-on experience with cloud interfaces such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
Experience designing and developing modern test automation frameworks
Proficient with source control management techniques including branching, code review, and merging.
Understanding of Kubernetes components and cloud provider offerings.
Demonstrated experience with stream and event processing
Proficiency building and maintaining CI/CD solutions (e.g., Github Actions, Jenkins).
Experience working in an agile software development environment, including sprint planning and delivery of sprint commitments, and Jira
Preferred qualifications
Experience of SAS solutions including deployment, administration, test, etc
Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining infrastructure in a public cloud platform, such as Azure, AWS, Openshift or GCP.
Familiarity with Playwright and Pytest
