Position Summary:
The Senior Software Engineer – Full Stack plays a key role in designing and maintaining scalable, high-performance services using technologies like Java, Node.js, C#, and Python. This position ensures seamless integration of user interfaces, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and data layers while optimizing cloud infrastructure and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. By driving innovation and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards like the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), this role supports Empower’s mission to deliver quality, affordable medications that improve lives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, and maintains scalable services using Java, Node.js, C#, and Python, ensuring efficient full-stack development of user interfaces, Representational State Transfer (REST) APIs, and data access layers.
Implements Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to automate and optimize cloud infrastructure management.
Manages and configures Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliable and efficient application delivery.
Builds and optimizes APIs to enable seamless data exchange between applications, while ensuring system security and healthcare compliance (e.g., HIPAA).
Collaborates with frontend developers, data teams, and stakeholders to create integrated solutions, contributing to architectural decisions and improving system scalability.
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. Knowledge and Skills:
Excellent problem-solving skills and collaborative communication, with familiarity in healthcare standards like Health Level 7 (HL7) and HIPAA being a plus.
Strong expertise in Terraform for infrastructure automation, with solid knowledge of Azure DevOps for building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in cloud-based architectures like Azure.

Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in backend development, with expertise in Java, Node.js, Springboot, C# and Python.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience developing headless web applications using REST or Graph Query Language APIs, with a strong understanding of containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
