Job Requirements / Description
Duration: 6 months with a possible 6+ month extension
Work Location/Type: Hybrid work environment; ~1 day in the office per week desirable
Responsibilities: As an Azure network engineer the contractor's responsibilities include documenting, optimizing performance, resiliency, scale, and security of Azure networking solutions. Candidate proactively monitors network environments to identify issues and minimize risk. The contractor also identifies and works with appropriate team members to resolve connectivity issues. The contractor should have experience creating, negotiating, and managing compute, storage, and networking resources in Azure. Subject matter expertise in planning, implementing, and managing Azure networking solutions including core network infrastructure, disaster recovery routes, hybrid connectivity, application delivery services, private access, to Azure services and network security.
Education Required: Bachelor's Degree or Higher (Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred but not required).
Years of Experience required: Seven or more years of experience.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Experienced in Microsoft Azure.
• Microsoft AZ-700 certification desired.
• Azure Data Lake Storage experience desired.
• Experience with software defined networking for cloud native and marketplace tools (Palo Alto preferred).
• Hands-on work with GitHub or Azure DevOps and associated CI/CD tooling.
• Designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Experience utilizing Terraform to automate the deployment of Azure resources; standardization with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) implementations.
• Knowledgeable with DNS (hands on), Network Proxy Configuration, Load balancing, Application Gateways, Port address translation (PAT) and Network address translation (NAT).
• Experience with cloud native security tools and security compliance. Ensure network security by enforcing firewalls, VPNs, and access control policies.
• Experience performing advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis to expedite incident resolution.
• Experience guiding and facilitating a combination of both business and engineering stakeholders through a technical decision.
