Title: Network Administrator 3

Location: Vancouver, WA (on-site)

Duration: 12-month Contract (with possible extensions up to 5 years)

Pay Range: $58.20 $61.43 per hour

The role of the Network Administrator is to organize, administer, install, configure and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), intranets, data communication systems, internet systems or a segment of a network system. This position monitors the network to verify network availability to all system users and may perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. May monitor and test website performance to verify websites operate correctly and without interruption. May assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software. May administer network security measures.

Position Responsibilities:

Communicate with clients and network team concerning solutions pertaining to network performance and/or maintenance, and facilitating problem solution.

Maintain and administer computer systems and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.

Monitor network performance, create network maps and monitor and solve network connectivity problems.

Identify the need to upgrade or enhance network component capabilities in response to network problems and deficiencies.

Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other system problems, and replace defective components when necessary.

Plan, coordinate, and implement system security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.

Configure, monitor, and maintain email applications or virus protection software.

Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems.

Design, configure, and test computer hardware and operating system software.

Confer with system users about how to solve existing system problems.

Install configure and support network and operating systems

Maintain and support network servers

Identify and solve problems that arise with computer networks and systems

Audit Operating Systems

Provide system administration

Draft/develop system protection processes

Restore data files and perform bare metal system volume recoveries

Support cluster/disaster recovery and verify continuous availability of business-critical applications

Engineer security build of operating systems

Position Requirements:

Education & Corresponding Experience

A Bachelor's degree in Network Administration, Computer/Information Technology (or closely related field) is required.

8 years of experience is required.

Experience should include implementing and maintaining network security in a large enterprise environment with Quality of Service (QOS).

Required Technical Skills & Experience

5 years of experience programming, configuration, and testing by command line interface (CLI) on Cisco routers and switches (Access Control List ACL).

5 years of experience coordinating and maintaining security regulatory requirements for an electrical utility or comparable public or private utility facilities.

5 years of experience implementing and maintaining network security in a large enterprise environment.

5 years of experience performing network management and operations tasks in a large enterprise environment.

5 years of experience in monitoring and coordinating the implementation of Information Systems Security Plans, processes and procedures.

5 years of experience working with common network test applications such as Wireshark, CAT5 certification testers, Nessus scanning, NMAP, and Spirent Ethernet test equipment.

2 years of experience with Microsoft Visio sufficient to create drawings, webpages and server icons to document procedures.

Preferred Skills & Experience

2 years of experience coordinating the implementation of NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection and procedures.

1 year of experience working with Cyber Security laws, regulations and internal policies to draft an Information Systems Security Plan (ISSP) and associated cyber security processes and procedures.

Knowledge of the application of Cyber Security practices within the Federal Environment or other electrical utility or comparable public or private utility facilities.
