Data Science / Data Wrangler (Senior)
Springfield, VA
MUST:
Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI
Experienced Senior Data Science/Data Wrangler
6+ years of Professional experience in Data Science
Heavy knowledge and experience with data management, transformation, visualization, analysis, and organization tools and techniques
Experience with Apache Hadoop, HUE, Hive, Pig, Spark, Elasticsearch, Kibana, or Tableau
Knowledge of programming languages, including Java, Python, R, or SQL
Experience with Data Mining, Data cleansing, Data Modeling, Data Science and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load)
Ability to manipulate data from multiple structured and unstructured data sources
Knowledge and experience with various search functions within metadata and ability to index and catalog content
Proven ability to act as a Data Wrangler and create data structures to organize, catalog and create reports between varying data types and sources
Work as an Interdisciplinary bridge builder who understands the Internet, databases, analytics, visualization, and data curation
Able to take the lead on work for Information/Library Science
Experience with GIS related applications
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to mentor and teach junior members on the team
Able to work well with a team and individually
Ability to speak with non-technical people and explain technical needs so they understand in a professional manner
Relevant certifications are a plus
AWS certifications are a plus
Bachelor s Degree in related field or 8 additional years required for the role
DUTIES:
The ideal person will use their vast experience to help advise provide expert guidance and direction and move data programs to next level
Use their subject matter expertise around managing and improving data libraries to help optimize reports for Government client
Work as a Lead / proactive team member and support/mentor multiple junior/mid level personnel to complete projects on time
Ability to categorize the data and metadata in order to build the metadata application profile
Help work between multiple data libraries and create data structures to organize, catalog and create reports between varying data types and sources
Conduct root cause problem analysis
Proactively monitor tasks and help identify issues and provide issue resolution
