Senior Project Manager IT (Mobile and Web Services)
Location: Torrance, CA (Hybrid of of 3 days/week onsite along with some remote work)
Contract Duration: November 2014 November 2025
This seeking highly motivated and experienced Sr. Project Manager will be working withing our client's Consumer and Dealer Applications Department and will be tasked with leading the project team in alignment with the department and business unit objectives. This is a leadership position where this PM will manage the design, development & implementation of the Dealer Communication system across multiple business areas. Duties will include the following:
Maintain a high performing team comprised of associate, contingent staff members, and vendor partners.
Achieve the Unit goals for the Project Delivery of the DCS system as approved annually including schedule, budget, and quality commitments, and define as well as implement the processes and methodologies to enable robust delivery and operation of complex, large-scale dealer-facing applications in a multi-partner ecosystem.
Provide governance and oversight of end-to-end delivery, administrative direction, and leadership guidance and support for members of his/her team.
Work closely with multiple areas (Sales, Parts, Service, Finance etc.), in addition to managing vendor suppliers.
this role will be responsible for working with all levels of business and technical management and teams to guide the delivery of both strategic and tactical projects.
Project managing a team focused on delivering a high-quality Dealer Communication System (DCS) that meets current and future dealer and business needs.
Be involved in developing and delivering proposals, dashboards, and presentations to all levels of business and management.
Understand business and technical aspects of the system and navigating a highly complex multi-organization ecosystem.
Required Skills:
IS-related Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
Must exhibit drive, thought leadership.
Strong problem-solving and organizational capabilities to lead the delivery of complex technology solutions.
Strong customer mindset
3-5 years of experience in the following areas:
Managing professionals that lead teams, groups, and vendors
Working with business groups and enterprise organizations such as Legal, Procurement, Enterprise Architecture, etc.
5-8 years of experience in the following areas:
Project management experience (Agile and Waterfall)
Technical management experience
2-3 years procuring and managing outsourced and offsite partners
Ability to plan, set and govern strategic and tactical direction to support the organization's goals
Professional writing skills
Technical understanding of mobile, web, services-based solutions
Experience in the following areas:
Creating management level presentations via MS PowerPoint
Delivering high volume transaction applications
Developing and managing a budget (at least $5M)
Leading and/or providing application development and portfolio support
Experience with client-server, SaaS, PaaS is preferred
Desired Skills and Expertise:
Experience with dealer automotive systems, DCS/DMS projects or other technology projects desirable.
Experience with Liferay platform implementations desirable
