Network Engineer
Quantico, VA
MUST:
Active Top-Secret clearance
(5+) years of experience with implementation and technical support of network devices, such as Cisco routers, Layer 3 switches, ASAs, and networked servers
TCP/IP, HTTP and DNS experience
Assist in the design and development of complex multi-server environments based on VMware virtual servers.
Should have a strong knowledge of the transactional flow-of TCP/IP based-communications at all layers of the OSI model and an in-depth understanding of specific network communications techniques
(DNS, IP Routing, HTTP, SNMP, VPN, Firewalls, Email Routing, etc.)
Relevant Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols (ARP, 802.1q, STR/RSTP, IPSEC VPN, etc.)
Knowledge of and experience working with Cisco OSPD and BGP routing protocols
Experience with operating systems, such as Cisco IOS and Cisco ASA
Experience implementing and maintaining IPSEC and SSL VPN solutions
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience designing and documenting process and procedures
Completion of a degree program, or bachelor's degree in technical field
Must have at least (1) Network related certification
DUTIES:
The Network Engineer will provide technical support of network devices through analysis and troubleshooting tools and providing solutions.
Provide ongoing network support to address availability issues, overcomes performance problems, and provides overall Level 2 support.
Engineer will manage network performance, diagnoses performance problems and undertakes tuning activities to ensure network performance meets SLR requirements; and troubleshoot and resolve problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network.
Managing the overall network performance including frequent problems, underlying issues and plans to improve network availability, performance and problem resolution.
