Job Requirements / Description
Responsibilities:
Develop new and modify existing data models to support Mission Data activities

Assess and make recommendations regarding the business needs of Mission Partners

Research and evaluate technical aspects of Information Technology (IT) systems with respect to data handling and analysis capabilities and constraints to make improvements.

Research and evaluate the user experience related to data model and methods employed by downstream IT systems to improve the models.

Develop formal data structure for broadest use possible through evaluation and assessment of business needs, technical IT capabilities and constraints, and user methods/experience.

Identify technical requirements for implementing data models, integrate them with providers of data, and make the models available to consumers.

Use data modeling products, including but not limited to diagrams, ontologies and crosswalks, to develop sustainable and scalable solutions to facilitate the integration between the IDM and internal and IC models and repositories.

Support the design, development and testing of enterprise data engineering components that depend on and/or are depended on by the IDM.

Develop or modify data model structures that can be used more broadly across multiple Mission Partners.

Qualifications:
Required

Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD; 10 years in lieu of a degree.

Expert knowledge of data modeling.

Expert knowledge of data modeling tools.

Excellent interpersonal skills to work across organizational boundaries.

Ability to collaboratively interact with customers including senior management, ETL software engineers, data scientists, and end users.

Desired

A solid grasp of data integrity, quality, and the basics of data security 

Knowledge of IT infrastructure capabilities and constraints

Strong command of data architecture principles and ability to design scalable and flexible data models that can adapt to changing business needs.

Skills in advanced SQL, including query tuning and optimization

Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.

Target Salary Range:
$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
