Where you’ll work:

You will work onsite in Crystal City, VA initially and then transition to onsite in Manassas, VA within the first year.  

An average day:

As Network Engineer III, you will focus on the design, implementation, and optimization of network infrastructure for large-scale data centers. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, efficient, and scalable network solutions. You will handle both day-to-day operations of existing data center environments and contribute to new build-out projects, providing technical expertise and ensuring federal security compliance. As a senior member of the team, you will also assist in mentoring other engineers and maintaining smooth communication between project stakeholders. Additionally, in this position you will:

Design, implement, and maintain data center network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and security.

Assist in the deployment of new data center build-outs, collaborating with engineering teams on planning and execution.

Troubleshoot, monitor, and optimize network performance, particularly in CISCO environments.

Ensure network operations adhere to federal security standards and regulatory compliance.

Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers, assisting with complex troubleshooting and design issues.

Collaborate with project management teams to meet deadlines and project objectives.

Maintain up-to-date network documentation, including designs, configurations, and procedures.

Participate in the evaluation and selection of networking hardware, software, and tools.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders and technical teams to support project goals.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other team members and ensure best practices are followed.

Travel both domestically and internationally as needed to provide support for project implementations.

Basic Qualifications:

As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with , Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.

5+ years of experience in network engineering, with hands-on experience in configuring and managing CISCO environments, including routers, switches (Nexus, Catalyst), and firewalls (Cisco ASA, Firepower).

Expertise in routing and switching protocols, including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and HSRP, as well as advanced switching technologies such as VLANs, VTP, STP, and EtherChannel.

Proven experience with network security technologies, including IPSec VPNs, SSL VPNs, NAT, access control lists (ACLs), and integration with firewalls and intrusion prevention systems (IPS).

Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills using tools like Wireshark, Cisco DNA Assurance, and SolarWinds for diagnosing complex issues in multi-layered network environments.

Extensive experience with data center networking, including new build-outs, migrations, and upgrades, with a focus on redundancy, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions.

Proficiency with network monitoring and optimization tools, such as Cisco Prime, SolarWinds, NetFlow, and SNMP-based systems for performance tuning and proactive network management.

In-depth knowledge of enterprise network design, including architecture, segmentation, load balancing, and the integration of multi-vendor solutions in CISCO-dominant environments.

Experience with network automation and scripting tools, such as Python, Ansible, or Cisco DNA Center, to streamline configurations, updates, and network operations.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and manage stakeholder expectations in complex projects. Strong communication and team collaboration skills.

Other Requirements:

Must have an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility.

Will be subject to a federal background investigation.

Must be able to travel regularly, both domestically and internationally, international travel will require a current US Passport.
