Responsibilities:
We are currently seeking an Information Assurance/System Security Engineer to support our Space & Intel customer. The Skyfire Program, a Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Indications and Warning (I&W) system, establishes a repository of resident space objects (RSOs), finds RSOs of interest, and provides data to ground operators. Located in Chantilly, VA, the Skyfire team uses: programmatics, sensor modeling, and system engineering expertise to deliver this world-class SDA I&W system.
What you'll do:
This hands-on technical position requires an ideal candidate to work tasks with minimal supervision under the direction of the Information Assurance team lead.
Provides technical and programmatic Information Assurance Services to internal and external customers in support of network and information security systems.
Designs, develops and implements security requirements within an organization’s business processes.
Prepares documentation from information obtained from customer using accepted guidelines such as RMF (Risk Management Framework).
Prepares test plans.
Provides assessment and authorization (A&A) support in the development of security and contingency plans and conducts complex risk and vulnerability assessments.
Analyzes policies and procedures against Federal laws and regulations and provides recommendations for closing gaps (ICD-503, NIST 800-53 and CNSS 1253 security controls).
Develops and completes system security plans and contingency plans. Recommends system enhancements to improve security deficiencies.
Develops, tests and integrates computer and network security tools. Secures system configurations and installs security tools, scans systems in order to determine compliancy and report results and evaluates products and various aspects of system administration.
Conducts security program audits and develops solutions to lessen identified risks.
Develops strategies to comply with privacy, risk management, and e-authentication requirements.
Provides information assurance support for the development and implementation of security architectures to meet new and evolving security requirements.
Evaluates, develops and enhances security requirements, policy and tools. Provides assistance in computer incident investigations. Performs vulnerability assessments including development of risk mitigation strategies.
Minimal travel (<10%) is expected.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
This position requires the candidate possess a minimum of TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a poly. The candidate must maintain the clearance.
Bachelors degree with 12+ years of experience; OR Masters degree with 10+ years of experience of relevant experience. Additional four (4) years experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Must have related security engineering experience serving as a Security Engineer designing, implementing, and supporting software architecture development in accordance with software assurance requirements
Current in at least one DoD 8570/8140 IAT certifications (Level 1 IAT or higher)
Experience implementing and designing Access and Identity Management solutions, auditing (Splunk) and systems monitoring, vulnerability management (Nessus), HBSS, AWS Cloud computing and services
Experience with government RMF and accreditation processes
Linux and Windows engineering experience
Desired Qualifications:
Master’s degree (or the equivalent) in a technical field
Two (2+) years of experience in the Intelligence Community with systems engineering focus

Target Salary Range:
$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
