GIS Analyst (ArcGIS Pro) - Long Term Project - Remote (US/PT)
Title: GIS Analyst
Location: Henderson, NV or Remote (US/PT)
Duration: 9-month contract (with very possible Extension)
Compensation: $50-60/hr.

Job Description:
Under general supervision, performs accurate data entry of vector and attribute data into the GIS database. Proficiency in ArcPro is required. A firm grasp of GIS principles and a good foundation of experience in common GIS tasks is essential. The initial primary duties will be in supporting our master address database including digitizing data, data entry, QC processes, updating annotation and mapping products and other spatial operation tasks supporting that initiative. Other duties such as creating map products and various spatial analysis may be involved dependent upon experience.
The ideal candidate should be able to exercise independent judgment and initiative to evaluate and develop GIS products in response to a variety of internal and external customer requests. This includes conducting research, performing analysis, creating specialized datasets, and providing feedback in multiple formats.
Experience in data maintenance and analysis is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in ArcGIS Online, particularly in developing web mapping applications and other GIS products within that platform.
Tasks/Deliverables:
Demonstrate competence in the field of GIS and basic ability to fulfill requested tasks. Actively participate in GIS team activities.
Required Skills and Experience:
Associate's or bachelor's degree in Geography, with at least 1 year of full-time GIS experience.
Proficient in ArcGIS Pro, including experience with editing tools and basic spatial analysis.
Skilled in accurately entering, editing, and maintaining spatial and attribute data in GIS databases.
Ability to interpret and analyze spatial data to support decision-making.
Strong attention to detail in data management and map creation.
Understanding of computer systems, file management, and basic relational database concepts.
Capable of documenting processes, creating reports, and communicating findings clearly.
Basic understanding of the ArcGIS Online platform, including its core tools and common functionalities used in an enterprise environment.
Effective team player with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Experience working in a multi-user editing environment and understanding of editing workflows within that context.
Knowledge of spatial database concepts, data modeling, and database management.
Experience with tools for visualizing spatial data, including dashboards, story maps, and interactive web maps.
Specific experience in AGO with developing and maintaining web mapping applications, ArcGIS Notebooks and utilizing Python resources for analysis and automation, experience with the Credit estimator, ArcGIS Open Data tools.
Duration:
Funding through June 30 th 2025 with possibility to extend beyond.
Work Schedule:
Monday – Thursday 7:30AM – 5:30 PM Pac
38-hour work week (9.5 hours/day - .5 unpaid lunch) = 10 hour work days
Location of Work:
Henderson, NV - *This position can telework and can accommodate remote work* (but must work Pac Time zone work hours of 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Pac)
