In July 2021, Connexity was acquired by Taboola, a leading content discovery and native advertising platform. This acquisition expanded Taboola's reach into e-commerce and performance marketing, enabling it to offer a comprehensive suite of solutions that combine Skimlinks’ affiliate marketing tools, Connexity’s retail and marketing solutions, and Taboola’s personalized content recommendations, thereby creating a powerful ecosystem for publishers and advertisers to optimize revenue and enhance user engagement. Our Engineers develop next-generation technologies that help retailers reach those qualified consumers.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Connexity Marketplace Engineering Team, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing our marketplace platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact features, enhance system performance, and drive technical excellence. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a passion for creating scalable and reliable software solutions.
Responsibilities:
Design and Development: Lead the design and implementation of complex features and components for the Connexity marketplace platform. Ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code.
System Optimization: Analyze and optimize system performance to handle large-scale data and high-traffic loads. Implement improvements to enhance overall system efficiency and reliability.
Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to understand requirements and deliver innovative solutions that meet business objectives.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Promote best practices in coding, testing, and software design.
Code Review: Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, quality, and security practices.
Troubleshooting: Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues. Implement solutions to prevent future occurrences.
Innovation: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies. Propose and implement new technologies and methodologies to improve our marketplace platform.
Requirements
Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on building and scaling marketplace or e-commerce platforms.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Java, Python, SQL. Experience with database management, cloud services, and microservices architecture.
Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges and propose effective solutions.
Collaboration: Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading technical projects and mentoring junior engineers.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Kubernetes, MySQL, BigTable, BigQuery, Oracle, Hadoop, Beam, Dataflow, Google PubSub, Kafka.
Experience with programmatic management of digital ad platforms (e.g. Google Ads, Bing Ads, Facebook Ads, etc) is a plus
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and software development life cycle (SDLC) best practices.

The pay range for this position is $150,000-$175,000 and could be flexible if level is deemed above senior. The pay offered may vary depending on several factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience (Level I, II, III). Compensation packages include a variety of perks such as equity, competitive 401(k) match, rich benefits, etc.
This position is a hybrid role, with 1-2 days based in the Santa Monica office.
