If so, we are looking for you, our next Space Domain Software Engineer to work in San Diego, CA, as part of a small team to develop ground system software, support mission operations, and interface with Customers and End Users to tackle their most stressing multidisciplinary design challenges. Primary Responsibilities
Works from established requirements and uses established software engineering processes to develop software systems, modules, and system enhancements.
Completes detailed design and development work for individual software components and integrates the developed products together individually and/or at the module or system level.
Follows software engineering standards and assists engineers in software system or module development and documentation efforts.
All aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding, and automated testing within an Agile and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery model.
Implement Agile development tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket/Git to manage work and collaborate with your teams.
Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug mission critical software source code using modern software development languages and tools, such as Java.
Design and execute maintainable code that matches specification.
Identify potential roadblocks and develop software solutions where the solution is not always well defined but always considers the customer first.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Software or Computer Engineering and 4-8 years applicable experience.
Ability to code in C, C++, Java, and Python.
Familiarity with source code control, bug tracking, and task management tools.
Development experience in space systems – strong preference for payload experience such as IR sensors.
Experience working with STK and Matlab.
Experience with space mission operations, planning, and/or phenomenology.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance. (U.S. Citizenship is required)
Ability and willingness to work onsite in San Diego, California.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with adaptive signal processing and applied mathematics.
Experience in the SBIRS operational ecosphere a strong plus.
Current and active DoD Secret clearance.
Willing to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
