UX Designer

SUMMARY:
We are hiring a UX and visual designer to develop, create, and modify user interfaces and design assets for our organization. Candidate should have a strong portfolio and experience in the industry
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver high-quality design assets (UX & visual) on time
Utilize Figma to create designs and prototypes
Create scenarios, process flows, information architecture diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, UI pattern libraries, interaction guidelines and other artifacts required to develop and evolve designs for a set of enterprise products, and services
Work collaboratively on a larger design team made up of interaction designers, visual designers, motion designers and front-end developers focused on end-to-end experiences
Follow coherent patterns and guidelines or help create them as applicable
Execute all design activities with high-quality and thoroughness
Typical Day in the Role:
Purpose of the Team: This team is within the Azure core organization and focuses on creating entry points for customers to get started with and use Azure, as well as working on marketplace experiences for commercial customers
Key Projects: This role will contribute to visionary work on Microsoft commercial marketplace, showcasing the vision through a series of demo videos. So, the role requires strong visual design skills and experience in building design assets for video as well as standard UX design skills
Typical Task Breakdown and Operating Rhythm: The role will consist of 10% meeting, 20% collaboration with other designers and 70% heads down with design assets
QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills:
Experience in software design and development
Experience in professional UX/UI development
Experience with visual design for digital purposes (PPT design, brand design, logo design, icon creation)
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Good fundamental design skills (typography, iconography, composition, color, layout, etc.) and creation of a variety of visual mood boards, storyboards, creative briefs, and motion and visual guidelines
Ability to quickly produce elegant and easily understood diagrams, wireframes, concept maps, prototypes, interaction guidelines and other related artifacts for a strong interaction point-of-view
Ability to create videos and video assets is preferred
Ability to design in 2D and 3D is preferred
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
5+ years’ experience required
Strong portfolio showcasing high-quality UX (depth and breadth) & visual design work
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Candidate Requirements:
Years of Experience Required: 10+overall years of experience in the field, but open to candidates with less experience but with very strong portfolio
Degrees or Certifications Required: A degree in UX or digital design is preferred, but open to considering candidates with strong portfolio and relevant experience
Disqualifiers: Candidates with job hopping and/or extensive gap between employments will not be eligible for the role
Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain strong communication skills, adaptability, strong visual design skills, and personal drive and determination (evidence of continuous learning and skill development)
Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on quality of work and meeting deadline, along with ability to collaborate and communicate with colleagues and stakeholders
