Responsibilities:
PeopleTec is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

The selected candidate will be a member of our dynamic Huntsville team and will work on projects involving mission and flight planning, software product design, development, testing, and analysis.

Understanding and developing solutions to support emerging needs in a dynamic environment
Planning, implementing, testing, documenting, and maintaining solutions for the integration and testing of products
Maintaining and evolving software architectures and external interfaces to expand capabilities of models and simulations
Supporting flight test analysis, planning, and execution
The successful candidate will be an adaptable, agile, experienced senior software engineer who is a consummate team player capable of spearheading the design and integration of software systems in support of DoD weapon systems. The candidate will work with the Product Manager, other developers, and engineers to define system requirements, create a compliant architecture, and integrate/develop software components. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess effective communication skills, and have skills and experience with a micro-service-based open systems architecture.
Duties Include:
Develop in a micro-services-based software architecture capable of operating in a deployed environment across tactical networks
Specify functional requirements, design computer simulations, client-server architectures, advanced networks/protocols, and databases
Review and develop technical specifications and standards, ensuring successful integration of subsystems into a microservice-oriented architecture framework
Integrate and modify software components and ensure interfaces and languages are compatible with the overall architecture
Plan and create new software modules to implement future capability enhancements as well as respond to changing customer requirements
Design and develop advanced networks and protocols, database management systems, and program in high order languages
Prepare and present briefings to internal and external teammates as well as customers
Apply science and/or engineering techniques to develop economical solutions to technical problems
Qualifications:
Required Skills/Experience:
Proficiency in common high-order programming languages such as C/C++, C#, and Python and the Windows and Linux operating systems
Experience in the development and maintenance of microservices and containerization technologies
Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills in the application of requirements analysis, design and development, unit testing, verification, integration, and reporting
Experience in the development of software applications for military systems
Experience in quality assurance during the software development and deployment stages
Sound oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly present and communicate technical approaches and findings to the team and the government customer
Experience working in an integrated development environment and using tools like Git, Visual Studio, and Azure DevOps Server
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project)
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, team environment
Travel: up to 5%
Must be a U.S. Citizen
An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering or scientific field of study from an accredited college or university and 5 years of progressively complex experience in computer simulation, software, advanced networking techniques and protocols, data bases, high-order programming languages, and operating systems
A relevant master’s degree in engineering or science from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two years of relevant work experience. A relevant PHD degree in engineering or science from an accredited college or university may be substituted for three years of relevant work experience.
