Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to join our Biologics Product Development Science & Technology group and help drive forward our Digital Transformation. The Data Architect is an expert in treatment of “context” of scientific data. On top of proper management of data and metadata from both experiments and simulations, capturing data context is essential for efficient downstream data analysis (e.g. compilation of comparable sets) and reuse of data beyond their original purpose. As a member of the cross functional Data & Digital Strategy team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports our bioprocess development and manufacturing support activities.
The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with scientists, process engineers, computational scientists, and IT professionals to ensure seamless integration and accessibility of data. As the architect of our data foundation, you will play a critical role in enabling efficient data-driven decision-making and accelerating bioprocess development through advanced analytics and machine learning applications. Strong technical skills in database management, cloud infrastructure, and data governance, coupled with a proven track record in collaborative environments, are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
In collaboration with IT teams, Business System Owners and SMEs, define overall data architecture, including data within systems, data movement between systems, data ontology/normalization and data warehouse design and implementation.
Effectively partner with cross-functional groups within PDS&T and outside stakeholders (R&D, Manufacturing, Quality) to understand business process data flows, data analytics, and data science needs.
Demonstrate deep knowledge of the biologics CMC science and business drivers. Utilize this knowledge in the rapid advancement of agile, impactful, and cost-effective solutions that align to business needs and priorities.
Interfaces with other data governance and ontology organizations and initiatives within Abbvie to coordinate “vocabulary” between research, operations, etc. Actively participates in communities outside Abbvie and reviews relevant literature to learn best practices from vendors and industry peers.
Develop and implement data science upskilling program for those interested in PDS&T Bio.
A primary author of publications and presentations.
Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, and data security.
