JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Business Systems Analyst will contribute to the administration, optimization, and support of key enterprise applications within the domains of Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM), Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC), and Land Management. The analyst will ensure that these mission-critical applications align with business processes, are efficiently integrated, and meet the strategic needs of the organization. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to provide both technical and functional expertise.
Responsibilities:
Administer and support ETRM applications (e.g., , Allegro, PowerOptix) to Bid to Bill, manage commodity trading, risk assessment, and compliance processes.
: Support and maintain EPC systems (e.g., AVEVA, Oracle Primavera, Aconex) to facilitate project planning, procurement, and construction management.
Manage applications for land and lease management (e.g., Quorum Land Management, P2 Tobin, LandWorks) ensuring accuracy of land records, contracts, and ownership data.
Collaborate with business stakeholders in trading, risk management, engineering, construction, and land departments to gather detailed requirements for enhancements or new modules.
Analyze business needs for ETRM (trading lifecycle, risk analysis), EPC (project cost control, contract management), and Land Management (land titles, ownership, rights) systems and translate them into technical configurations with some direction from Business Applications Manager
Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for ETRM, EPC, and Land Management applications, ensuring the timely resolution of issues and minimal downtime.
Work closely with third-party vendors for escalated support and system updates, particularly for complex integrations and customizations.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, workflows, and custom reports specific to ETRM, EPC, and Land Management platforms.
Ensure the seamless integration of ETRM, EPC, and Land Management applications with the organization’s broader IT landscape, such as ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), financial applications, and geographic information systems (GIS).
Design and maintain data workflows and automation between ETRM, EPC, and Land Management systems to streamline business processes and improve data accuracy.
Support data migrations and ensure integrity between various systems in large capital projects or asset divestitures.
Identify and recommend areas for improvement within the ETRM, EPC, and Land Management systems to enhance performance, efficiency, and compliance.
Stay update and new features in ETRM, EPC, and Land Management software that can benefit the organization.d on industry best practices, regulatory changes,
Develop and implement process improvements in trading, risk management, project management, and land/asset management workflows through automation and better use of technology

Contribute to system implementations, upgrades, and optimizations for ETRM, EPC, and Land Management applications.
Provide subject matter expertise (SME) to customers and stakeholders during project phases such as requirements gathering, system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and post-go-live support.
Manage the application side of large-scale projects, ensuring systems are prepared for high-demand periods and aligned with evolving business needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in enterprise application support or for ETRM a user with and/or Front/Middle/Back Office experience with a focus on ETRM(preferred) , EPC, or Land Management systems is an asset but not required. Experience in the business for ETRM of either Front/Middle/Back office can be a substitute.
Experience with ETRM software such as OpenLink, Allegro, RightAngle, or similar platforms.
Strong accounting experience in Settlements/AR/Billings is an asset
Experience in EPC systems like InEight, Oracle Primavera. Knowledge of Land Management tools such as Quorum Land Management, P2 Tobin, or LandWorks is an asset but not required.
Strong understanding of system integration, data management, and API integration between these specialized applications and core enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, GIS, financial systems).
Experience with SQL, database management, and reporting tools is an asset
Additional Requirements
ITIL, PMP, or certifications related to ETRM, EPC, or Land Management software are assets but not required
The expected starting pay range for this role is $89,000 - $112,000 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels.
