Are you a skilled Perl developer looking to make a significant impact on modernizing a critical middleware ecosystem? We're seeking a talented Perl developer to join our team and drive innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Modernization: Design, develop, and deploy changes to modernize the Perl ecosystem and reduce risks, including uplifts to a modernized software stack and decommissioning.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and ensure timely delivery of software solutions.
Development: Write clean, efficient, and scalable Perl code that adheres to industry standards and best practices.
Testing: Conduct comprehensive testing to ensure software quality and functionality.
Code Review: Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to peers to maintain high code quality and maintainability.
Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and debug software issues promptly and efficiently.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies, contributing to the continuous improvement of our software engineering practices.
Qualifications:
Must-Haves:
Over 5 years of experience in software engineering or related fields
Strong programming skills in Perl, Python, or other relevant languages
Experience working in a Unix operating system and shell scripts
Experience with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies
Experience with software development tools like Git, Jenkins, JIRA, and Confluence
Experience with certificates, encryption, and cybersecurity
Strong problem-solving, creative thinking, and critical thinking skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Nice-to-Have:
Familiarity with financial services or capital markets
