Position Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving our multi-year Technical Modernization journey. This leader will work closely with the Program Sponsor, I&T Leadership Team, and Strategic Partners to spearhead large-scale digital transformation initiatives, focusing on instantiating a new digital core for the enterprise, facilitating a shift of our applications to the cloud, eliminating 80% of our technical debt, and reducing our overall run costs. The ideal candidate will have a background in life sciences and deep expertise in cloud solutions, ensuring that modernization efforts align with the evolving needs of the business.

Reporting Relationships:

This position is a direct report to the IT Head of Demand and Portfolio Management.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Program Leadership: Lead and manage end-to-end program delivery for technology modernization, ensuring alignment with the overall IT and business strategy. Maintain a master plan and roadmap for the program.

Partnership with the Program Sponsor and Key Stakeholders: Collaborate closely with the Sponsor to refine the strategic vision, scope, and execution of the program initiatives. Drive alignment with Infrastructure, Technical Operations, Cybersecurity & End User Services, and Technology Office.

Cloud Transformation: Drive initiatives focused on migrating legacy systems to cloud platforms, driving the adoption of cloud-native solutions, and ensuring optimal scalability, performance, and security.

Cross-Functional Coordination: Work across departments (I&T functions and Business Units) to understand their needs and ensure modernization efforts align with business goals.

Program Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors and technology partners, ensuring successful delivery of projects and the adoption of best practices in cloud and enterprise technologies.

Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with the modernization program, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards (e.g., GxP).

Change Management: Partner with the Head of OCM to drive change management and user adoption efforts across the organization to ensure smooth transitions to new systems and processes.

Budget Oversight: Track and manage program budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with the overall IT financial strategy.

Performance Metrics: Define and track program performance indicators to ensure project success and continuous improvement in technology delivery.

Position Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in IT program management, with at least 3-5 years focused on enterprise systems and cloud technologies. Life sciences industry experience is strongly preferred.

Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience in leading cloud migration or transformation initiatives.

Leadership: Proven track record of managing complex, multi-year IT programs in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

Life Sciences Knowledge: Familiarity with life sciences business processes and regulatory environments, including GxP, FDA, EMA regulations, and clinical/research system needs.

Project Management Skills: Strong program management skills with experience using methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches. PMP or PgMP certification is a plus. Scaled agile experience and SAFe certification a plus.

Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and manage key stakeholders across all levels of the organization.

Budget/Financial Management: Demonstrated ability to manage financials for projects and organizations, track ongoing costs, and collaborate across finance partners, portfolio governance, and business partners.

Data Analytics / Business Intelligence: Deep experience leveraging data to perform data analytics and business intelligence that enables management of large portfolios of projects and programs at scale.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
