Overview:
IT Field Technician

 

The IT Field Technician is primarily responsible for on-site, IT support for our supported dental practices.  While on-site at offices, the Field Technician is responsible for installation, troubleshooting, and issue resolution of IT and digital, clinical systems.  This position will also assist in the on-site installation of large IT hardware refresh projects and other modernization and standardization projects.  This position will report to the Office Integration Management Team.

Responsibilities:
Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position:

Assist the Office Integration Team with on-site installation, maintenance, and support for both existing and newly supported dental offices

Install, repair, and/or upgrade servers, workstations, digital dental equipment, network switches, printers, scanners, and any other IT related equipment needed at the office

Assist with installation projects related to modernizing and standardizing practice management software and IT equipment (also known as conversions)

Assist with computer hardware/operating system refresh projects

Troubleshoot IT systems at offices to determine root cause of issues experienced at dental office and provide steps for resolution

Communicate frequently with office contacts and other nontechnical stakeholders

Communicate installation and problem resolution status to the Field Tech Coordinator and the Dental Office Service desk for handover of office support

Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

 

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:

Completion of one of the following: three years of IT experience in a technical support role OR a degree in an IT related field

Ability to travel (fly and drive) multiple times per month for a week at a time (90-100% travel required)

Ability to physically lift 50 lbs.

Practical knowledge of computer and networking troubleshooting concepts

Strong computer skills, including experience with operating systems, computer and networking hardware, and other IT related peripheral devices

Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail

Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to communicate frequently with different departments and stakeholders

Ability to interact with co-workers in a collegial manner to accomplish common tasks

High level of maturity, personal initiative, and sound judgment

Attendance and punctuality are essential

Desirable Qualifications:

Prior experience in an IT field/on-site support role

Experience working with dental IT hardware and software
