DPP is seeking a Developer III for an opportunity in Columbia, SC. Candidates must be eligible to earn a low-level US security clearance.

 

Work arrangement:

Hybrid, onsite 2 days per week

W2 position; 12 months

Must be eligible to earn a low-level US security clearance, which requires a thorough background search and US citizenship.

Summary:

Development staff will generally participate in multiple tasks throughout the day to help data integration efforts, including: designing new services, developing using Java/JavaScript, working with other application areas (or external vendors), configuring Gateway routing, establishing AAA (Authentication, Authorization, & Accounting) policies, or helping to troubleshoot existing data issues across the enterprise.

REST and SOAP API experience Java and JavaScript development

Preferred: DataPower and/or AWS Gateway configuration experience

OpenAPI/Swagger experience

Minimum required work experience:

4 years of application development, systems testing or other job-related experience

Job/class description:

Perform all phases of applications systems analysis and design. Analyze systems specifications and develop applications to support information systems processes. Prepare detailed specifications from which complex programs will be written. Design, code, test, debug, document and maintain these programs. Formulates scope and objectives through research to develop or modify complex systems.

Ensure team members understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions, organizational standards are maintained, and applications are delivered according to project timeliness. Provide expert system knowledge, perform research, attend meetings, and review documents.

Maintain and modify programs according to specifications. Code, compile, and implement application software that is delivered on time and within budget. Evaluate basic interrelationships in immediate programming area to determine how changes in one program will affect another related area.

Test modified programs, create necessary test files and data, verify logic, debug, and write relevant documentation.

Analyze production systems, recommend systems enhancements, provide instruction to production support team. Research customer issues and determine appropriate resolutions. Coordinate implementation of modifications or enhancements.

Analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems. Develop functional design and technical specifications, concept diagrams, and work flow diagrams and related procedures to process data using appropriate systems environment/platform. Document programs/procedures.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Strong communication, flexibility, team-oriented, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks are required skills.

Design and analysis skills are also needed, as is the ability to work with diverse teams to solve complex challenges.

Strong understanding of applications/development, quality assurance and integration methodologies, concepts and facilities in a mainframe, midrange, and/or PC/LAN environment. Strong analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrates logical abstract thinking and assimilating/adhering to project goals and deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Able to work well under pressure and as part of a team. Strong knowledge of interpersonal skills/team building. Familiar with project management concepts. Pays attention to detail. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients, vendors etc. Minimum Required Software and Other Tools: Strong knowledge of relevant operating systems, programming languages, and development tools and their usage in the company.

Required education/equivalencies:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree;

OR, Associate’s degree in CS, IT, or other job-related degree plus 2 years of work-related experience;

OR, 4 years job-related work experience (total 10 years without a degree)
