Job Requirements / Description
Essential functions
Analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications.
Understand scripting and application code generation.
Support data extraction, migration and integration initiatives.
Provide support for solution modules.
Analysis of data at field and field relationship levels.
Understand and integrate edge/sensor devices into a network.
Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner.
Attend project status meetings as required.
Data transformation.
Participate in application requirements and design review meetings.
Assure quality security and compliance requirements are met for supported area be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment.
Ground Sensor technology (look for Unattended Ground Sensor or UGS).
Wireless / RF communications and networking (VHF / UHF).
Conduct rapid prototyping to create and bring innovative and new digital products, tools, and analytical capabilities or front-line operational use.
Support and participate in Vendor interactions.
Update user documentation and requirements.
Write functional test cases and test steps based on product requirements.
Execute functional test cases to verify quality for product requirements.
Execute manual, smoke, functional, and regression testing.
Automate the testing scripts to ensure quality consistency and reduce manual testing efforts.
Perform error analysis and bug reporting.
Capture test results for bench marking and perform feature analysis and efficacy of the products from different vendors.
Assist in requirement analysis, test design, and test documents.
Provide assistance with troubleshooting failed sensors or networking components to determine if the devices can be fixed or will need replacement.
Developing and testing scripts to apply software or firmware patches on sensors where available.
Develop and document the processes and procedures for patching and provide them to local Field Support and Law Enforcement Operations Directorate (LEOD) staff.
Perform network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Surveying, Engineering or related field.
Proficiency with programming languages such as JAVA and Python.
10+ years of experience with sensor networking, unattended ground sensors (UGS), peripheral modules (Pmod).
