United Wholesale Mortgage is looking for applicants interested in stepping into Information Technology as a Scrum Master (SM). We are launching our Scrum Master Experience (Scrum Master-X) training program where you will learn all the skills necessary to become a successful Scrum Master. We will teach you how to work in an Agile environment, how to work effectively with a team of Developers, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance Analysts, Product Owners, and Team Leads as well as the ins and outs of Agile processes and coaching techniques. This program will prepare you to coach and support multiple IT teams at UWM as a Scrum Master.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Training in a hands-on classroom environment for 7 weeks on Agile Methodologies and the Scrum framework
Learning how to facilitate and coach teams on the Scrum framework, pillars, and framework
Learning about the soft skills needed to be a successful Scrum Master such as brand building, team dynamics, and coaching foundations
Participating in hands-on facilitation sessions and weekly teach-backs to the class
Completing homework assignments, group and individual projects, exams, and quizzes
Learning the expectations, standards, and systems used by a Scrum Master at UWM
Working with a mentor to help guide your transition from the training program to our IT Team
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
Must have at least 1 year of experience working on a cross functional team as a Business Analyst, Quality Analyst, or Software Developer OR at least 1 year of experience leading a team
Knowledge of the Agile Manifesto and Agile Methodology
Knowledge of the Scrum Guide, including Scrum Values and Principles
Previous experience teaching, mentoring, or training others
Willingness to be coached up on best practices and improvements as well as what it takes to learn software development and business analysis
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and OneNote
Ability to read and interpret data and metrics
Strong drive for continuous learning and improvement
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable with public speaking
Comfortable giving and receiving feedback
Detail oriented
Strong time management skills
Critical thinking and asking questions
Problem solving skills
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
Comfortable in a fast-moving environment
Ability to multitask and adapt quickly
Positive mindset
NICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience working in Information Technology
Experience using work tracking tools such as Team Foundation Server (TFS) or Jira
Previous experience using Confluence
