Day-to- day tasks to be performed by the Consultant:

The Senior Software Developer will lead computer application development in support of the MRC-STTRONG grant. The incumbent will:

Oversee and manage the SERVNY application development including providing technical expertise, guidance, and implementing, testing, and deploying code.

Guide the development of robust technical solutions for the SERVNY application, ensuring, system layout, technology stack, and framework selection.

Leverage technical expertise to deliver a cohesive application through the development lifecycle, optimizing for performance, scalability, and future expansion.

Implement a responsive web application that can work on any device. This application will use a Single Page Application (SPA) architecture and interact with secure RESTful services. The backend will be developed using object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and leverage Spring framework, and Spring Boot for faster development. The user interface (UI) will be built with the Angular framework using TypeScript for type safety and enhanced maintainability.

PrimeNG components will be used to provide pre-built UI elements. Finally, the application will connect to a relational database, either PostgreSQL or Oracle, for data storage and retrieval.

Software Developer: MRC-STTRONG project

Is involved with all facets of the software development process, including the research, design, programming, testing and implementation of computer software.

Senior 60-94 months Candidate is able to work without assistance and can provide leadership for others.

72+ months experience development in medium to large-scale technical projects and assuring deliverables and project scope are met and well documented.

72+ months of experience in designing, implementing, testing, and deploying Web Applications (Single Page front end applications, REST backends) Strong UI/UX design and development preferred.

78 months experience in REST API design and implementation (API security, authentication, authorization)

60 months of experience with relational and NoSQL database platforms

60 months of experience with proficiency in Spring and Spring Boot frameworks for efficient back-end development.

48 months of strong experience in developing cloud-native and hybrid applications using serverless platforms (e.g., AWS or GCP).

60+ months of experience with proficiency in application development with Angular UI Frameworks.

This position requires at least a bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent in a relevant technology field from an accredited institution.
