Summary of Position
The IT Specialist is responsible for providing services to enhance the use of IT products such as customer and desk side support, acquisition, implementation, deployment, help desk, asset, and problem management.
Reports to: IT Support Manager
Work Location: In our Tampa, FL office, onsite
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Records, responds to, diagnoses, escalates, follows up, and documents solutions to problems through discussions with users.
Diagnose and resolve problems associated with application software, hardware and operating systems; determine the source of problems and classify their level of urgency and nature.
Install and deploy workstations and other IT technology to users.
Support desktop environments and work with various backend technologies.
Takes requests, assembles and ships or installs solutions for users.
Operates equipment and software according to system design.
Troubleshoots and provides production support and repair.
Updates existing documentation based on instructions for products and services.
Adheres to all IT processes, policies, standards, and procedures.
Provide support to help desk staff as appropriate.
Configure, deploy, maintain, troubleshoot and install new computer hardware, peripherals, mobile devices and software for end users in-house and remotely.
All other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills (not mandatory)
Be the primary point of contact for the Managed Detection and Response (MDR) SOC events and requests from MSP if applicable.
Monitor software patch platform for vulnerabilities requiring manual remediation with MSP if applicable.
Operate the enterprise vulnerability scanner and prioritize/coordinate remediation activities.
Plan & implement Security training materials to end users.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; Associates degree or a minimum of one (1) year experience in desktop and/or help desk support or either six (6) months plus work experience or an internship.
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 & 11 OS, MS Office 365, Office 2016-2019 Suite and PC Hardware.
Excellent customer service skills for a diverse customer base.
Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on written and verbal skills.
Takes initiative and works as a team player.
Physical Demands
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Needs to occasionally move about the inside of the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. and bend or stand as necessary. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Occasionally positions self to move boxes or equipment weighing 25 pounds or less. Frequently communicates with fellow employees, clients, associates, etc. Must be able to perceive objects at a distance and up close.
