Team Overview:
The Senior Database Administrator Engineer position will Design, implement, and maintain databases, conduct backups, and troubleshoot issues.

Role Responsibilities:
Oversee databases, ensuring efficient performance, security, and data integrity. Review procedures in database management system manuals to make changes to database.

Optimize query performance, manage resources, and plan for scalability. Enforce security measures, collaborate with developers, and stay updated on industry trends.

Write and optimize SQL queries, troubleshoot database issues, and ensure efficient data retrieval and manipulation.

Create and optimize database structures, including tables, indexes, and relationships, ensuring data integrity and performance.

Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data and minimize downtime in case of system failures.

Analyze and optimize database performance, identify and resolve bottlenecks, and fine-tune SQL queries for efficiency.

Develop standards and guidelines for the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information. Specify users and user access levels for each segment of database.

Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations. Modify existing databases and database management systems, ensuring accuracy and minimal disruption to operations.

Automate routine tasks, create scripts for database maintenance, and enhance overall system efficiency. Forecast resource requirements, plan for database scalability, and ensure optimal performance as data volumes grow.

Test changes to database applications or systems.

Test programs or databases, correct errors, and make necessary modifications. Effectively communicate with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to address database-related requirements and issues. Plan and install upgrades of database management system software to enhance database performance.

Role Qualifications:
3 years of experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Database Management or Database Systems or related.

Extensive familiarity with RDS database architecture;

Demonstrated ability to manage RDS database operations for large enterprise;

Deep knowledge of Database Management Systems (DBMS), including MySQL;

High-level of experience with SQL (Structured Query Language);

High-level of experience in database design;

3 years of experience with backup and recovery, performance tuning, security management, data migration, monitoring and troubleshooting in MySQL;

3 years of experience with scripting languages, including Python; and 3 years of experience performing database upgrades and patching.

Salary Range: $136,010 - $269,990 per year
