Duties:
Project Manager I is responsible for the performance of several small to medium sized technical projects, several moderate sized projects, or a definable portion of a larger project or program in accordance with contract requirements and company policies, procedures and guidelines.
Directs and supervises support resources for the performance of project assignments and activities. Manages the technical direction of a project through the design, implementation and testing in accordance with project objectives.
The candidate is required to use CE's PPM tools to review project work plans, issues, risks, and dependencies.
The candidate will produce status reports, conduct status meetings, and facilitate issue resolution and risk management sessions.
Developing presentations and identifying process improvement opportunities.
This position will report to the IT PMO and will not be managing projects.
PMO activities include reporting, performing Health Checks/Gate reviews, interfacing with multiple delivery portfolios and non-functional groups, and working with the rest of the PMO team to ensure all projects are on track.
Skills:
Excellent planning skills using industry planning applications (i.e. Clarity/CA PPM, Microsoft project)
Attention to detail
Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile methodologies
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship building skills
Ability to resolve complex technical issues
Ability to manage, coordinate, guide a project team of technical professionals
Good leadership skills
Ability to manage moderately complex projects
Good negotiation skills
Ability to work well with mid to senior management
Five or more years in IT related project management, planning and scheduling medium sized projects
Scheduling/planning/management across multiple small to medium sized teams.
Education:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related field
PMI/Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required
Demonstrated ability in managing projects of moderate size and complexity.
Working in a project management office (PMO)
