What the day will look like
Aon Consulting, Inc. seeks an IT Engineer – Infrastructure Services based out of headquarters in Chicago, Illinois to build computer systems and architecture. Configure backup systems and software using Rubrik, Druva, Veritas NetBackup, EMC Dell Data Domain, Veeam, and Commvault. Perform data recovery tasks to restore files and applications. Integrate Rubrik with cloud platforms including AWS and Azure to facilitate cloud-based backups. Optimize backup configurations, workflows, and parameters in Azure and AWS to enhance performance, efficiency, and reliability. Design and deploy backup solutions using AWS services including Amazon S3, AWS Backup, and AWS Storage Gateway. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to backup failures, performance bottlenecks, and data restoration. Conduct tests of AWS backup and restore processes, verifying recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs). Integrate backup automation with cloud services for hybrid or multi-cloud environments. Implement network security monitoring tools to detect and respond to suspicious activities related to data movement within the backup infrastructure. Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python or PowerShell. Telecommuting available 5 days per week. Annual salary: $94,700 - $157,900.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
Master’s degree in Information Systems Management, Engineering Management, or a related field plus two years of computer systems and architecture experience. Must have at least two years of experience in each of the following: 1. Configuring backup systems and software using Rubrik, Druva, Veritas NetBackup, EMC Dell Data Domain, Veeam, and Commvault; 2. Integrating Rubrik with cloud platforms including AWS and Azure to facilitate cloud-based backups; 3. Designing and deploying backup solutions using AWS services including Amazon S3, AWS Backup, and AWS Storage Gateway; and 4. Developing and maintaining automation scripts using Python or PowerShell.

Salary range or hourly pay range for the position
The salary range for this position is $94,700 - $157,900 annually.
