What you will do
We are seeking a passionate Full-Stack Software Engineer with expertise in Python and front-end frameworks. You will be a champion for cloud technology, fluent in its technical and financial advantages.

Joining our skilled Cloud Engineering Team, you will design, build, maintain, and improve automated reporting for cloud costs and optimization across our public cloud infrastructure. As a FinOps Software Engineer, you will be an innovation leader, continuously refining our cloud financial controls and resource optimization strategies. You will also play a key role in fostering a culture of cloud cost accountability across H-E-B.

 

Responsibilities include:

Understand the cloud technologies and how to use the different cloud resources

Leverage automation & APIs to build cost reporting and optimize cloud spend across the business

Troubleshooting and resolving issues as needed

Identify high-impact areas for central cost control, maximizing cloud efficiency

Implement automated tools to pinpoint cost trends, anomalies, and track budget variance

Partner with finance on budgeting, forecasting, tagging, and FinOps KPIs & SLA (Service Level Agreement) analytics

Foster collaboration by identifying and communicating cross-team dependencies

Who You Are

You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or comparable field, or equivalent self-study

You have 1+ years of application development experience?and cloud technologies

Experience with at least one cloud platform architecture, preferably AWS, GCP or Azure and including core concepts such as:?Organizations, Account Design, Billing Section, Security etc

Has a strong foundation in Python (or similar) and a passion for building full-stack applications using Typescript, React or a similar front-end framework

Has a keen eye for cost optimization and enjoys diving into financial data

Thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoy partnering with others

Comfortable working in an agile environment, using modern development methodologies and processes

You have experience with common software engineering tools such as Git, JIRA, Confluence, etc.

You have a high level of comfort in Lean Startup or Agile development methodologies?
