Overview:
D448 has a challenging but rewarding Systems Engineering opportunity within Electronic Development Lab (EDL). The selected candidate will provide technical guidance / oversight of new, repaired, and modified components. These duties include identifying drawings, troubleshooting with schematics, requesting applicable Production Test Procedures(PTDs) or Engineering Test Documents (ETDs), assist staff conducting test procedures, review test data, provide ship out instructions and record shipping documents.
As needed, the candidate will schedule and attend kickoff meetings, evaluate system requirements as they pertain to the component evaluation & test, and provide technical guidance to technician(s) within the department. The candidate will work with supervision to determine priorities, develop schedules, and manage work load. The selected candidate will also recommend and implement process improvement initiatives, as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering
5+ years of engineering experience
Secret clearance
Skills:
Candidates must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Microsoft Office computer skills
Be able to work both independently and with a team.
Ability to plan, organize, and schedule work.
Ability to direct others to accomplish tasks is required.
A technical background in submarine systems and components and/or submarine operational experience is highly desired.
Working knowledge of special emphasis programs (DSS-SOC, SUBSAFE, and Fly-by-Wire) requirements is desired.
