DPP is seeking a ServiceNow Senior Engineer for an opportunity with our client in the banking industry in Columbia, SC.
Work arrangement:
Hybrid
W2 position; 12 months
Job description:
A ServiceNow Senior Engineer is responsible for maintaining and updating the ServiceNow platform at Client.
Maintaining the platform includes addressing any identified defects in functionality or capability as well as regular monitoring of the system, alerts, and logs to ensure service availability.
Updating the platform includes designing and building additional features, capabilities or integrations as planned, and incorporating all such changes into quality releases on a regular basis.
The Senior Engineer also stays abreast of upcoming ServiceNow releases and ensures the Client instance maintain proper currency with the vendor releases.
The Senior Engineer will also work closely with the CMDB Administrator and the Service Catalog Administrator to provide overall design guidance if needed and to maintain overall consistency across the ServiceNow platform.
Further, the Senior Engineer will contribute and lead if required, to further integrations with CMDB data sources or other software platforms (e.g., ADO or Teams, etc.).
The ServiceNow Senior Engineer also executes appropriate administrative tasks.
These tasks include user and group access administration, morning health checks as needed, promoting and managing the Dev, Test, and Prod environments, ensuring backups are in place, and other systems configuration tasks that may be required.
Further, the ServiceNow Senior engineer will lead or provide support for releases or changes to the platform, executing administrative tasks as required.
Responsibilities:
Maintain the ServiceNow platform including resolving any defects and ensuring proper operation.
Update the platform to improve existing or incorporate new capabilities
Manage and implement required changes and releases to the platform
Ensures software currency with vendor releases
Establishes the working relationships with peer teams, suppliers, as well as senior management,
Ensures all platform operations meet day-to-day objectives and conform to strategy directions and standards with assistance from peer teams, and senior management.
Adheres to and advances/improves production operations best practices and methodologies, including ITIL as well as ITSM processes.
Leads and participates in the continuous improvement of the ServiceNow platform and stays abreast of industry developments.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics or Scientific field preferred. Strong experience and other relevant degree (e.g. business or economics) will be considered.
ServiceNow Administrator and/or Technology Certifications beneficial
2 years of experience as a ServiceNow Senior Engineer
2-3 years ServiceNow engineering experience preferably in a complex corporate setting
Must be fully expert in ServiceNow platform implementation and upgrades.
Must be highly competent analyzing and correcting platform defects.
Must be a good communicator and well-organized, and can present and convey situations to other engineers, leaders, and senior management.
Excellent analysis and engineering execution skills
Must be working independently and productively execute against tasks.
Superior engineering and problem-solving skills.
Can influence and orchestrate both peers and suppliers to effect desired outcomes.
Knowledge of production operations disciplines including ITIL and ITSM processes.
Familiarity with financial industry service is beneficial.
