Software Engineer 
Position Summary:

As Software Developer / Engineer, you will assist with the design, development, testing, and integration of software to satisfy system functional requirements for new and existing applications.

Clearance Requirements:

Must be a US citizen with the ability to maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Perform Machinery Control Systems (MCS) modeling simulation development for simulation of MCS operation and construction

Utilize hardware, software and interface interactions, connections, and subsystem mounting to effectively program and run simulations

Provide software lifecycle support following the NSWCPD Systems Engineering Process (SEP)

Provide support with applicable Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI)

Uphold the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standards and specifications.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

Completed Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Computer Engineering or a related technical field

3-5 years' related experience

PLC simulation and coding (Ladder Logic Base – Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc)

C++, Java, Python software programming language (min 3 years).

Software development in socket programming, OPC-UA and OPC-DA

Experience developing graphic user interfaces.

Knowledge and experience with DevOps methodology

Physical Demands and Expectations:

Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting

Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
