Job Description:

We need candidates local to Denver, CO for a data analyst position. Given below is the job description.

The core responsibilities for members of this team are to develop analytics events and test cases relating to different feature sets within our websites and mobile applications. After creating and supporting development efforts for the events and tests, the data generated is then used to create reporting that drives business decisions for the team, leaders, and executives in an effort to optimize the customer experience for Spectrum's customers.

This would include guiding business questions from conception to answer by providing data-driven, actionable insights. Maintaining and constantly improving data quality by monitoring for errors, defects, or tagging gaps within the applications. Other tasks will include: performing detailed requirements analysis, creating tagging code to support new feature development, crafting powerful reports to deliver answers to stakeholders, ad hoc analysis and bug-fixes, documenting processes, working cross-functionally with multiple groups and performing user acceptance testing.

The onshore anchor role will be responsible for managing a team of offshore data analysts who will assist in all the same functions as the onshore data analysts. Initially this role will work Colorado (MST) business hours with the existing team to become 'certified' and an expert in using our tools and following established business processes. Within 12 months, the onshore anchor and current team leadership will collaborate to build a team of offshore analysts that will be managed by the onshore anchor. The onshore anchor must have experience working with large data sets and have the capability to use or learn the technical tools required at Spectrum. This person must also have direct managerial experience, preferably managing an offshore team. They will be responsible for managing their teams daily workloads, ensuring quality and accuracy, and be able to communicate complex analytical results, both written and verbally, in a clear and easy-to-understand way.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to operate as an individual contributor as well as manage a team of offshore analyst

• Evaluate business features, gather reporting requirements, and uncover areas for improvement

• Responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards

• Provide Ad Hoc data support – requires proficiency in SQL, R or Python

• Effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional team members and leadership

• Gather critical information from various stakeholders to create actionable improvements to analytics

• Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements by testing and coordinating with testing group

• Monitor performance of current reporting and services; ensure no gaps in existing feature reports

• Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects for themselves and their team

• Develop tagging requirements for implementation by front end teams for reporting

Skill/Background Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a mathematical, analytics, or software engineering field

• Advanced skills in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook

• Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills

• Code development skills, experience with YAML, or experience with SDLC, SQL (HIVE)

• A solid understanding of SQL, relational databases, and normalization

• Proficiency in use of query and reporting analysis tools: Tableau, Pivot, Kibana or similar

• Executive communication skills

• Experience with A/B testing for optimization and canary release tactics

• Ability to analyze and interpret data; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to define key performance indicators / metrics

• Ability to manage multiple projects at one time while prioritizing and organizing effectively

• Nice to Have: Git, ElasticSearch, or data mining experience
