Overview:
The Stern Area System (SAS) team is currently looking for an experienced engineer to lead our software development efforts. The successful candidate will join a team of both in house developers and subcontractor developers. The candidate will be involved in all aspects of systems engineering including the establishment of requirements for both tactical and non-tactical (simulation) software, development of software requirements and interface requirements specifications, software design, providing oversight to software developers in the development of both tactical and non-tactical (simulation) software, performance of software and system integration testing.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering discipline, related technical degree
3+ years of related work experience
Working knowledge of SW development languages including C/C++
Experience working in a Linux development environment
Experience developing requirements specifications
Working knowledge of JIRA and GitLab workflows including code development, review, integration and testing
Experience with system and software design
Experience developing test procedures, test reports and technical manuals
Experience conducting system and/or software testing
Ability to troubleshoot and categorize system, software, configuration, and hardware problems
Experience with subcontractor management
Preferred:
5+ years of related work experience
Secret security clearance
Demonstrated experience in a software development environment
Knowledge of the SWFTS TI/APB baseline development process and associated baseline products
Knowledge of RMF, Cybersecurity related certification, training, or experience
Skills:
Strong sense of team environment
Strong organizational, communication, written, and interpersonal skills
Ability to interface with NAVSEA customer on all software and cyber related activities
Ability to function independently but contribute as a member of the overall team
Ability to apply attention to detail, technical rigor, problem-solving, and multi-tasking to technical assignments
Ability to plan, organize, and schedule work
Willingness to take on, research, and solve challenging problems
