Responsibilities:
Project Overview:
REI provides leading-edge DevSecOps and User Experience Design (UXD) services to frequently deploy cost-effective and high-quality code supporting the USCIS mission—overseeing lawful immigration to the United States. The team uses an open-source technology stack, microservices architecture, and human-centered design practices in an Agile environment to deliver new business functionalities daily.
Position Overview:
The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, creating, and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines for enterprise-scale systems, along with developing and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) artifacts using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. This role involves implementing and managing container-based application solutions utilizing Kubernetes and Docker, while also writing and executing ad-hoc scripts in Bash and Python to automate and streamline DevOps processes. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies for scaling and optimizing cloud environments, troubleshoot issues with development teams through testing and configuration validation, and provide deployment support for applications and microservices in cloud environments.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins, along with expertise in container technologies, microservice architecture, and scripting languages like Bash, Perl, and Python.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
3+ years of relevant experience in DevOps or related roles.
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Education: B.S. in Computer Science or a related field
Location: 100% remote with 10% travel may be required Local to DMV preferred
Clearance: able to obtain Public Trust
