SciTec is an industry leader in developing and deploying advanced software for the Department of Defense missile tracking mission. SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented Developer/Analyst to support programs focusing on development and integration of satellite ground processing applications at our El Segundo, CA location. This is a unique opportunity to join a small business that provides core capabilities for National Security and Defense. Our teams focus on low-latency data processing, detection, and tracking algorithms for exploitation of remote sensing systems. The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded, analytically minded C++ developer, work well as a part of a rapid pace, collaborative, small-team environment, and be able to prototype, develop, integrate, and test advanced software solutions into Government frameworks.
Responsibilities
Tailor and adapt existing C++ data processing code for mission specific applications
Develop new software for complex processing algorithms using both open source and internally developed libraries and APIs
Support development and analysis of new processing algorithms and methodologies
Build and deploy new tools for testing, debugging, and benchmarking
Compile, analyze, and report application performance metrics
Work as part of an Agile team and contribute to shared tools
Work with Industry and Government partners to develop, document, and support integration and testing
Document requirements, designs, and performance metrics for presentation and reporting to industry partners and government customers
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
The following minimum qualifications are required for the position
A bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or related field
Demonstrated proficiency and fluency with C++ and python
Experience using Docker and Kubernetes
Experience deploying and managing applications in AWS or Azure
3-5 years professional experience in scientific data analysis
Demonstrated ability to perform independent analysis on complex software systems
Good verbal and written communication skills and experience presenting data to customers and other stakeholders
Ability to work on-site at our El Segundo, CA office location and
Ability to obtain and maintain an active Department of Defense Secret clearance
Demonstrated attention to detail
Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferred.
Current DoD TOP SECRET security clearance
Optimization skills for high data throughput processing
Experience with the exploitation of OPIR, E/O, SAR, Spectral, RF, or other remotely sensed data
Strong understanding and experience with modern object-oriented design, inheritance patters, and SOLID principles.
An advanced degree in physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science.
Experience implementing features of C++ 14, 17, and 20 standards
Fluency in MATLAB and/or Rust

The pay range for this position is $96,000-$124,000/year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
