Location: Remote MUST work EST hours

Job Request for RTE or SM in Global Product Lifecycle (GPL) Initiative. Presently, this initiative is being executed by 3 engineering teams with no lead Scrum Master or Delivery Manager. We are looking for an eager contractor who feels confident in helping coordinate and oversee this initiative from the responsibilities as an RTE (Release Train Engineer) or Scrum Master.

This role would be at least 16 months long but could be extended.

Job Responsibilities include:

Leading & attending shared GPL-related Scrum events:

Team stand-ups

Attending one of our off shore team’s (Belfast) stand-ups to track progress for GPL in coordination with our US-based teams

Weekly GPL Scrum of Scrums

Monthly GPL demos

Shared team refinements/sprint planning sessions

Program Increment (PI) Management:

Maintaining calendars for program increments (PIs) or phases of GPL

Implementing and leading PI planning events each quarter

Monitoring the progress of PIs and ensuring alignment with the overall program roadmap

Coordination and Alignment:

Coordinating and aligning GPL activities with the organization's strategic goals

Serving as a liaison between product management, development, and operations teams

Proactive tracking and handling of initiative-level dependencies/risks

Long-term Planning:

Looking ahead at the program roadmap 6 months and beyond

Artifact Creation and Facilitation:

Creating and facilitating initiative artifacts

Ensuring the business gathers necessary information before engaging engineers for future components of the initiative

IT Engagement:

Kicking off IT engagement when it's time for engineers to start looking at future segments of work within the initiative

Additional Responsibilities:

Serving as Scrum Master for one engineering team that is part of this initiative

Stakeholder Management:

Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure their needs and expectations are met

Metrics and Reporting:

Developing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the progress and success of the initiative

Providing regular status updates and reports to leadership and stakeholders

Change Management:

Leading change management efforts to ensure smooth transitions and adoption of new processes or systems

Issue Resolution:

Facilitating the resolution of issues that may impede project progress

Training and Mentoring:

Providing guidance, training, and mentoring to team members and stakeholders on agile practices and methodologies

Continuous Improvement:

Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in processes, tools, and team collaboration
