HRIS Systems Analyst

Newport Beach, CA (onsite)

Perm Position

The Systems HRIS Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and administering HRIS, focusing on Oracle Cloud HCM. Acting as a technical point of contact, the analyst oversees user acceptance testing, analyzes process flows for improvements, and optimizes HR systems. Collaborating with the HR team, they define requirements and lead system configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Oracle HCM modules. Additionally, the HRIS Systems Analyst handles HRIS upgrades, patches, and technical projects, provides level 2 support for HRIS-related issues, develops user training materials, and maintains documentation.

General Responsibilities

Perform system maintenance and application upgrades, including keeping up with Oracle s periodic updates.

Assist in the review, testing, and implementation of Oracle Cloud HCM systems (Core HR, Benefits, Compensation, Absence, Talent Management, HR Help Desk, HCM Analytics).

Collaborate with functional and technical staff to coordinate application upgrades/fixes.

Maintain HRIS system tables and document processes and results.

Configure, develop, and independently manage Oracle Cloud HCM modules.

Collaborate with HR functional experts and other departments to understand functional needs and define requirements.

Provide production support, including researching and resolving technical and functional issues, unexpected results, or process flaws.

Perform scheduled activities and recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.

Optimize HRIS processes by integrating the software/systems to build a highly integrated and automated set of processes.

Perform audits on HR processes, documents, and data, taking action consistent with available facts, constraints, and consequences.

Maintain specialization in specific areas of responsibility through constant learning of new technologies and best industry practices.

Stay aware of technological advancements and current trends in HRIS, continuously increasing both HR and HRIS application/tools knowledge.

Recommend process/customer service improvements and innovative solutions, with approval from appropriate leadership prior to implementation.

Conduct training and develop user procedures, guidelines, and training materials.

Create and maintain master structural data in the system (e.g., Dept./Org tree, Job code, location).

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

2-5 years of experience in Core HR and multiple Oracle Cloud HCM modules: Benefits, Compensation, Talent Management, Help Desk, Absence (preferred).

3-7 years of proven work experience as an HRIS analyst or in a similar role.

Expertise in writing complex SQLs (preferred).

Experience in writing Fast Formula (preferred).

Understanding of quantitative/qualitative measurement and data/system design principles.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to collaborate, provide technical support, and train staff.

Proven experience in documenting processes, running diagnostic tests, and audits.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience with a programming language and PL/SQL (preferred).

Excellent time management skills.

Ability to work independently under general guidance.

Experience with a Project Management Tool or HRIS analyst certifications (preferred).
