Application Developer - SQL - Contract - W2 Only - Remote

Application Developer - SQL

 

This is a W-2-only position (no staffing agencies or contractors). Candidates must be currently located in the U.S.A.

 

Remote - Core Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM CST

 

Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with SQL Server ETL/application developers to provide technical guidance and resolve blockers.

Serve as a liaison between DBAs and other teams, facilitating meetings when necessary.

Document decisions in JIRA.

Mentor team members by recommending best practices for establishing or modifying DevOps processes during server migrations between domains.

 

Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong ability to work with stakeholders across various levels (clinical, technical, operational, and executive).

Ability to clearly communicate issues between ETL developers and the DBA team when problems arise.

Strong understanding of permissions and service accounts.

Strong understanding of Microsoft Active Directory Groups.

Solid knowledge of the DevOps process, including GitHub Actions, Octopus, etc.

3-5 years of experience as a SQL Server Database back-end developer or DBA.

3-5 years of intermediate to advanced SQL skills (T-SQL is required; Teradata SQL is a plus).

1-3 years of experience with automated jobs (Active Batch, SQL Server Agent, ESP, etc.).

Previous experience in large system conversions or mergers, where analysis of existing processes was required to ensure no gaps, is a plus.

 

Education:

A Bachelor's degree is REQUIRED (preferably in Computer Science, though flexible).
