System Administrator Patching & Vulnerability Management

Candidates provided must be pre-screened to ensure they fully meet the qualifications and experience level requirements.

Five or more years working with and security Windows Server Operating Systems (2012R2, 2019, 2022), both physical and virtual systems.

Progressive responsibility and in-depth knowledge of patching and health verification of Microsoft Exchange, Domain Controllers a plus.

Experience creating, updating and working with Group Policy Objects (GPO) to further orchestrate patch behavior, including new functionality on modern platforms.

Experience patching Windows Systems with both WSUS and Ansible.

In-depth understanding and experience of planning, coordinating and executing Change Management operations for highly critical systems.

Primary Responsibilities

Manage entire lifecycle of Vulnerability bulletins across multiple product platforms (Jira, Crowdstrike, Tenable, etc.), making adjustments to methodology as appropriate if outliers are discovered.

Proactively evaluates and remediates risk related to vulnerability management compliance across a wide variety of technologies.

Plan and execute appropriate Change Management artifacts for production systems.

Interact daily with End-Users, System Administrators, Cyber and Systems Compliance Teams to ensure vulnerable devices are brought into and maintain compliance.

Provide follow-up reports (technical findings, feedback, resolution steps taken) for root cause analysis, engineering technical assessment and process improvement initiatives.

Leverage orchestration technologies available within Group Policy Objects (GPO), PowerShell, Ansible Tower/Ansible Automation Platform, to further orchestrate patch operations, as well remediate additional vulnerabilities not natively possible via patch tools (e.g. WSUS).

Remediate systems with Critical / Non-Critical vulnerabilities within prescribed timeframes.

Performs system monitoring of accountable systems and contributes to optimum system availability.

Develops and maintains current operational procedures and user documentation applicable to the supported systems.

Responsible for maintaining a thorough knowledge of NERC CIP-007, CIP-010 Standards, as well as proactively addressing issues to avoid compliance risk.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or a related engineering/science discipline: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.

Eight or more years of relevant education, training and/or progressive experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years of experience requirements for this posting
